Stomach Flu Virus

Monday morning, 2/22 at 2:00 am I woke up in the middle of the night and ran to the bathroom. Before I knew it I threw up. I went back to sleep and woke up again at 4:00 am and then again at 5:00 am. Later that that same day I had diarrhea. I ran a fever up to 101 degrees. When the nurse returned my call she confirmed that there was a Stomach Flu Virus going around. It was the worst day of my life and I felt weak and helpless. I did not know what to do and luckily my sister in law went through the same thing early in pregnancy. Most pregnant woman are very vulnerable to this virus. The most important thing is to hydrate yourself because you have expelled so much water. Gatorade and Pedialyte Ice Popsicle sticks came to the rescue. I never feared so much again about the pregnancy. And kept a close watch of my temperature. If your temperature ever rises above 102 degrees go to the hospital. There's nothing they can do to get rid of the virus because eventually your symptoms will subside. But at least they will monitor your temperature and refuel your liquids through IV fluids. Unfortunately, my supportive hubby is sick today with the very same virus. The Stomach Flu virus is highly contagious and you should always watch your hands.

This life you have given us
is so tiny, fragile, and vulnerable,
safe in the womb of flesh and hope,
yet subject to danger and death.
O God of love, creator of life,
hear our prayer.
We want this baby so much.
Please grant this child of ours
a full term of nurture,
the joy and mystery of life,
and the blessing of your love.
Grant us the fulfillment of our dreams,
a baby to cherish and protect,
a child to teach and guide,
a blessing to our family.
